Distorted octahedral supramolecular cages based on spirobiindane with enhanced emission

By employing a C 2 -symmetric spirobiindane core, two distorted octahedral cages (S1 and S2) were successfully synthesized. Among them, S1 exhibited a high fluorescence quantum yield ( Φ F ) of up to 96.24% in 20% H 2 O/DMF.
