Diplomacy, Ideologies, Societies: Contemporary Projections and Policies
Mira Markova, Alexander SivilovThe preface presents the volume as a collective work of established and young scholars of Sofia University on “hot topics” in historical knowledge. It states that historians must analyse the complex diplomatic relations of the 20th and the first decades of the 21st century objectively, in a world on the threshold of a new world order. The authors introduce the concept of “crisis”, give it special attention and compare macro-level processes that shape societies. The topics named are relations between the United States and Russia, Japan and NATO, Southeast Asia, Japan and Nazi Germany, President Truman and Congress, the European Union and Syria, Juan Perón’s economic independence, pilgrimage and the holiday system. The last paragraph names the project and the financial support of the Fund for Scientific Research.
