Dimensions of the Internal Working Environment in an Agricultural Extension Organisation: Insights from the Perspectives of Extension Professionals
N. Bhuvana, I. Sreenivasa Rao, Late Bharat S. SontakkiThis paper assesses extension professionals’ perception of ten dimensions of the internal working environment in district-level agricultural extension organisations. Appropriate scales from existing literature were employed to measure the constructs within each dimension, and data was collected through a structured and pre-tested survey instrument. Non-parametric statistical tests were utilized to analyse the ordinal data. Results indicate that extension professionals perceive a higher level of job satisfaction at the extension center. However, addressing the poor work-life balance is crucial for the long-term effectiveness of any agricultural extension organisation.
