Digital Transformation of Islamic Financial Services Through the Tring Application: A Case Study of Pegadaian Syariah in Sumenep
Roebbani, Ahmad Muhajir, HamidahThe digital transformation of the Islamic financial sector has opened new opportunities for non-bank financial institutions to reach communities that were previously underserved. This study examines how the Tring application, developed by PT Pegadaian (Persero), is used in three main services at the Sumenep Branch of Pegadaian Syariah, namely financing, savings, and pawn. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings show that the Tring application has served as a catalyst for promoting Islamic financial inclusion in Sumenep, with ease of access, contract transparency, and compliance with Sharia principles as the main factors driving adoption. Nevertheless, several challenges, such as low digital literacy, limited network infrastructure, and customers’ concerns about data security, still need to be addressed. The study recommends strengthening Sharia-based digital education programs and improving user data security as strategic steps moving forward.
