Digital color separation for textile printing using Ramsete III: an applied study of checker, texture, and patchwork designs
Marwa Mahmoud Galal OsmanAbstract
The technological advancements have provided possibilities that have contributed to the development and adaptation of digital technology designing contemporary fashion and textiles. This development has led to new challenges, including the need for rapid design processes using computer-aided design (CAD) software while maintaining high accuracy. The field of color separation in textile printing and design is linked to production preparation stages and printing processes that combine design vision and technical knowledge. In this context, the research presents an applied study of using Ramsete III software in color separation, especially those designs that require precise geometric calculations to link and regularly repeat design units. The research problem examines the application of Ramsete III software in color separation and printing preparation for textile designs, addressing the constraints of color separation tools and the need to create a methodology comprising specific steps that provide precise replication and high-quality print results. This research adopted a procedural approach by outlining the steps involved in color separation. As a result, research outcomes formed a basis for developing a proposed replicable workflow for digital color separation in textile printing. The framework proposed ensures improved repeats, minimizes production faults, and offers a methodology for contemporary textile printing.
