Abstract

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is an aggressive rapidly proliferating subtype of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL). Less than 1% of oral lesions among cases of DLBCL involve the maxilla. A case of a proliferative growth in right maxilla that developed following extraction of a grossly mobile teeth is discussed. Computed tomography (CT) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET CT) were suggestive of an advanced malignant lesion with pulmonary metastasis. Biopsy indicated a poorly differentiated malignant tumor. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) confirmed it as DLBCL-germinal center subtype. Three cycles of R-CHOP (rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone) chemotherapy was administered but patient succumbed to the disease before completion of treatment.
