Dielectric Polymers for Transistor Memories
Waner He, Tsuyoshi MichinobuThis chapter explores dielectric polymer-based materials for transistor memories, emphasizing their potential for non-volatile data storage. Different polymer electrets and some other hybrid material systems employed in organic field effect transistor (OFET) memories are discussed. A brief history of the development of dielectric polymer-based OFET memories, the basic theory, and recent advances are highlighted to gain insights into the operation mechanisms and the relationship between molecular design and memory performances and to improve the overall performance of OFET memories in process engineering technologies. In addition, the latest applications of artificial synaptic memory are introduced.
