Dielectric Electroactive Polymers for Memory Applications

Yi-Hsuan Tung, Yan-Cheng Lin, Chien-Chung Shih

This chapter highlights the roles of dielectric electroactive polymers in resistive switching memory, transistor-based memory, and phase change memory. Through advances in molecular design, including donor–acceptor systems, nanocomposites, and self-assembled block copolymers, these materials enable tunable charge trapping, improved device flexibility, and enhanced electrical and thermal performance. The discussion also covers recent developments in photonic memory and synaptic transistors, underscoring the potential of polymer-based systems for future low-power, high-density, and neuromorphic memory applications.
