Development of the Fuel and Energy Complex of the BRICS Countries: Financial, Economic, Environmental and Digital Aspects of International Cooperation

This article examines the development of the fuel and energy complex in the BRICS countries, focusing on building effective models for organizing international cooperation based on the formation of a system of tools and a common digital space for economic and energy interaction. Methodology. A systemic-structural approach is used to analyze BRICS development processes, providing a tool for logically constructing cause-and-effect chains in this area of economic and political relations. Results. An analysis of the economic indicators of the BRICS countries and potential candidate countries for membership is conducted. Key features of the use of various cooperation tools to expand the space for international coordinated interaction among BRICS member countries are identified. Conclusions/Significance. This paper proposes, based on the management technologies that underpinned the Unified Energy System of the USSR (UES of the USSR) and the MIR Unified Energy System, the formation of a unified fuel and energy resource supply system and the management of economic transactions related to fuel and energy resource circulation across most BRICS member countries, with access to a unified, ultra-large-scale management space supported by a pool of digital platforms, the creation and operation of which is unique to Russia. Application: This article may be useful to researchers and practitioners engaged in analytical work, as well as graduate and undergraduate students.
