Development of Digital Control Systems in the Energy Infrastructure of BRICS

E.B. Grabchak, V.V. Grigoriev, E.L. Loginov

The study outlines methodologies for constructing a unified cross-border digital infrastructure to optimize data governance and strengthen the resilience of cyber-physical frameworks against potential threats facing the energy sectors of the BRICS countries. The principal objective of the proposed digital ecosystem is the construction of a robust and cohesive information framework. This framework would facilitate seamless data and document exchange among all stakeholders in the energy sector, including both private enterprises and public institutions operating at multiple governance tiers throughout BRICS. The study employs an adapted systems-structural methodology tailored for database development and utilization within the energy sector. This approach leverages geospatial information systems to create a comprehensive digital framework. The innovative aspect of this study lies in the capability of the proposed platform to adapt to constantly evolving digital control systems within the decentralized yet interconnected BRICS energy architecture. The study thoroughly examines the necessity for a consolidated international digital management platform within the energy sector by defining its goals and objectives, proposing a functional architecture, detailing its constituent subsystems, and outlining strategies for the implementation of both technical and organizational measures. Additionally, this study serves as a valuable resource for researchers engaged in energy and IT studies, as well as for postgraduate and undergraduate students pursuing related fields.
