DEVELOPMENT OF CALCULATION METHODS AND TOLERANCES FOR EVALUATING CONJUGATE ERRORS OF GEARBOX ASSEMBLY

Aleksandr Kapitonov, Viktor Pashkevich

Calculation, tolerances determination and control of conjugate error of gear assemblies is necessary for mechanisms for various purposes, since the quality of manufacture of the assembled mechanism, its reliability and service life depend on this indicator. The main task is to develop calculation methods and a system of conjugate error tolerances for cylindrical gear assemblies with the determination of the ratios of these tolerances with the conjugate error of new promising small-sized planetary gears with rolling elements. The research used interchangeability methods for summing accuracy indicators and amplitudes of harmonic components, as well as the method of spectral analysis of conjugate error. The paper presents methods, calculation formulas and a conjugate error tolerance system for cylindrical gear assemblies developed on their basis. As a result of experimental studies of the tested gearboxes, amplitude-frequency spectra with the most significant harmonic components of the conjugate error are obtained, characterizing the manufacturing and assembly errors of transmission parts. The relationship between the most significant harmonic components, geometric parameters of gears and manufacturing errors are found out, which makes it possible to calculate the conjugate error of cylindrical gear and planetary gears with rolling elements using a single method. The calculated tolerances for the conjugate error of cylindrical gear assemblies have been experimentally confirmed. It is possible to compare the manufacturing accuracy of planetary gears with rolling elements and cylindrical gears according to conjugate error tolerances.
