Development of a Recirculating Pyrocatalytic System Using NBT‐6BT‐2Zn for Water Pollutant Degradation
Aditya Gaur, Mohit Singhal, Satyanarayan PatelABSTRACT
Pyrocatalysis is a promising method for degrading dye pollutants and treating wastewater using low‐grade energy from temperature fluctuations. In the current study, a prototype is fabricated using a hot and cold‐water bath to induce temporal changes in the suspended 0.94Na 0.5 Bi 0.5 TiO 3 ‐0.06BaTiO 3 ‐0.02ZnO (NBT‐6BT‐2Zn) as a pyrocatalyst, along with a methylene blue (MB) dye solution. Three flow rates (0.11, 0.22, and 0.33 L/min) and varying temperatures of the source (hot water bath) are investigated. The maximum MB dye degradation is obtained as 42% at a flow rate of 0.11 L/min over 60 min. Furthermore, the optimized parameters are used to investigate the degradation of the medical dye, aiming to mimic the real‐time degradation of dye pollutants.
