Determinants of LMS success in higher education: Examining training, satisfaction, integration, and usage in Indonesia

Vera Septi Andrini

The increasing adoption of Learning Management Systems (LMS) in higher education highlights the need to understand factors influencing their success. This study investigated the impact of training, satisfaction, integration, and usage on LMS success among 100 undergraduate students in East Java, Indonesia, using a quantitative survey and PLS-SEM analysis. The results showed that all four factors positively and significantly contributed to LMS success, with integration emerging as the most influential factor, followed by training, satisfaction, and usage. The model explained 62% of the variance in LMS success, demonstrating strong explanatory power. The findings emphasize the importance of providing effective user training, ensuring seamless system integration, enhancing user satisfaction, and encouraging active LMS usage. Overall, the study offers valuable insights for higher education institutions seeking to improve digital learning environments and maximize the effectiveness of LMS implementation through a balanced focus on both technological and user-related factors.
