Abstract

Hefei Advanced Light Facility (HALF) is a low-energy, diffraction-limited storage ring (DLSR) under construction in China. A test beamline is among the ten beamlines to be built in the first phase of the HALF project. It will provide a platform for beamline instrumentation R&D and X-ray optics research. The HALF test beamline has two branches, namely the monochromatic branch and the white/pink branch. The present aim for the monochromatic branch is to verify our in-house-developed high-energy-resolution grating monochromator. We also plan to build two endstations in the white/pink branch. One endstation is used for thermal management research. Another one is for wavefront-sensing-aided instrumentation R&D. In this paper, we will elaborate on the scientific and technical scope of this beamline. We will also describe the beamline and endstation designs, as well as the key optical components. The outlook of this beamline will be discussed in the end.
