A miniaturized 3-dB coupler based on strongly coupled dual-hollow-core anti-resonant fibers (DHC-ARF) is proposed. The designed coupler has a short device length of 3.8 mm, a small microstructural diameter of 48 μm, and a standard circular outer jacket. By adopting truncated elliptical and circular tubes, the effective area of the core is increased. The wavelength and polarization dependence of the proposed DHC-ARF is analyzed. Simulation results demonstrated that the coupling ratio of the two polarized states is stabilized at 50 ± 4% from 1460 nm to 1625 nm, covering the S, C, and L bands. The coupling ratio difference between the two polarized states is less than 2%.
