Death after Comirnaty Vaccination (BioNTech/Pfizer): Random Correlation or Causation? A Case of Postmortem Diagnosis of Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis Complicating Unexpected Acute Myeloid Leukemia

In February 2021, <2 months into the vaccine campaign against SARS-CoV-2 virus in Italy, the death of a 55-year-old female 5 days after the second shot of the Comirnaty vaccine (BioNTech/Pfizer) led to a thorough forensic analysis. Postmortem examinations allowed the diagnosis of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis complicating acute myeloid leukemia, ruling out any causal relationship with the Comirnaty vaccine injection. This case demonstrates the importance of extensive forensic investigations to establish the correlation between vaccination and subsequent events, without considering only the temporal correlation between events.
