ABSTRACT

Flow and heat transfer of viscoelastic fluids over a stretching surface are important in many industrial sectors. To the best of our knowledge, no previous study has investigated Sutterby fluid flow along with melting heat transfer over an axially Stretching Cylinder. This study investigates the behavior of a shear‐thinning non‐Newtonian viscoelastic Sutterby fluid flowing over an axially stretching cylinder. This work presents the first analysis of the combined effects of Sutterby fluid rheology, cylinder curvature, and melting. Similarity transformations are employed to convert the governing partial differential equations into a system of non‐linear ordinary differential equations, which are solved numerically. The effects of the melting parameter, Prandtl number, Weissenberg number, curvature parameter, and Sutterby power‐law index on the flow and heat transfer characteristics are investigated.
