Cumulative Belief Degrees Approach for Supplier Selection and Evaluation

Özgür Kabak, Nurullah Güleç
Due to intensifying market competition, the supplier selection problem has become increasingly critical for organizations. This challenge has spurred numerous theoretical and practical studies that have continuously evolved to address dynamic industrial needs. Recent advancements in this field have primarily focused on adapting evaluation criteria to changing operational conditions. However, there remains a notable lack of methodologies that allow decision-makers to participate flexibly and integrate their heterogeneous expertise effectively. To address this gap, this study proposes a Cumulative Belief Degrees (CBD) approach within a multi-criteria group decision-making (MCGDM) framework. The proposed model enables experts from diverse domains to evaluate alternatives using criteria tailored to their specific areas of expertise. Finally, the applicability and effectiveness of the methodology are demonstrated and validated through a comprehensive illustrative application.
