Control of Foliar Pythium Blight with Cyazofamid and Picarbutrazox on Perennial Ryegrass Turf, 2024 and 2025

Chase W. Bauberger, Kyle M. Genova, Ming-Yi Chou

Pythium blight, caused by Pythium spp., is a devastating disease on perennial ryegrass ( Lolium perenne ) turf. Cool-season turfgrasses are susceptible to Pythium blight, especially when environmental conditions are hot and humid and the soil is excessively wet. During optimal disease development conditions, cool-season turfgrasses can experience rapid, widespread damage. This report evaluates the efficacy of synthetic fungicides on the management of perennial ryegrass Pythium blight. Results from this trial will help turfgrass managers develop effective fungicide management programs for Pythium blight.
