Fluorescent nanodiamonds (FNDs) have emerged as a versatile and powerful quantum platform across quantum technologies, biomedical sciences, and industrial sensing, owing to their exceptional optical properties, excellent spin coherence, inherent biocompatibility, and remarkable environmental robustness. In recent years, notable advances have been achieved covering both well‐established and newly discovered diamond color centers, the controllable fabrication of high‐quality FNDs, the integration with nanophotonic devices, and the expansion of application scenarios. This review provides a comprehensive and critical overview of the latest research advances in FNDs, focusing on the development of novel color‐center species, advanced synthetic and surface‐modification strategies, nanophotonic integration technologies, and cutting‐edge applications in quantum sensing, single‐photon emission, and biomedicine. We further present a critical assessment of current challenges and an insightful outlook on future trends. This review aims to offer a unified perspective for interdisciplinary researchers and promote the practical translation and advanced developments of FND‐based technologies.
