Consensus Cosmic Shear in the 2020s: Focus Meeting Summary

Angus H. Wright, Nicolas Martinet

Abstract

At the 2022 IAU General Assembly, members of the cosmological community gathered to take part in Focus Meeting 3: Concensus Cosmic Shear in the 2020s. The Focus Meeting aimed to provide a forum for the discussion of optimal methods to utilise the most information from future so-called Stage-IV cosmology surveys. Over two days, the meeting hosted lively discussions on topics ranging from optimal (and efficient) algorithms, to reflections on past analyses, to best-practices for future work. Of particular interest was the persistent S 8 and H 0 tensions. The meeting concluded with an illuminating discussion about the community’s ideas for making Stage-IV analyses the most accurate, precise, and trusted possible.
