Conductive Filaments as Freely Formable Heating Elements

Immo Baarlink, Steffen Leonhardt, Markus Lueken

Abstract

This work investigates a conductive TPU filament for 3D-printed heating elements in thermal models. Electrical and thermal behavior is analyzed using different connection methods, including metallic threads and conductive tapes. Results show significant contact resistance effects and nonuniform heating. The gray tape yields the best performance regarding uniform heating, but improvements are still required.
