Computing Canonical Calabi—Yau 3-folds

Muhammad Imran Qureshi

Given a weighted projective orbifold w F ↪ P( w i ), of dimension d , we describe an algorithm that lists all n -dimensional complete intersection X ⊂ w F whose singular locus consists of isolated orbifold points together with a single curve of type ½(1,1,..., 1) that contains no dissident points. As an application, we construct several families of wellformed and quasismooth canonical Calabi-Yau threefolds whose only singularities are such ½(1,1) curves, as complete intersections in weighted projective spaces.
