Composition of Freshwater Zooplankton Communities in Aquatic Habitats of Baramati (M.S.)
Ravindra Baburao GaikwadPresent study was undertaken to assess zooplankton diversity in three freshwater habitats of Baramati Tehsil : (1) the Karha River (2) freshwater body at the central office campus of Vidya Pratishthan, and (3) freshwater body at Vidya Pratishthan's New English School, during February–April 2025. Zooplankton samples were collected using 20 µm mesh plankton net, observed under microscope and identified Total 17 zooplankton species belonging to four groups : Rotifera (6 species), Cladocera (5 species), Copepoda (5 species), and Ostracoda (1 species) were recorded: Rotifera was found to be a dominant group, followed by Cladocera, Copepoda, and Ostracoda.
