ABSTRACT

Rhizobium alamii is an exopolysaccharide-producing rhizosphere bacterium. We report the complete genome of strain MD26, isolated from beach pea ( Lathyrus japonicus ) root nodule tissue from a Massachusetts shoreline. The 7.55-Mb genome comprises five circular replicons, three without counterparts in the type strain, and encodes no known nodulation or nitrogen-fixation genes.
