Comparative Study of Ellis Hybrid and Ternary nanofluid over a Stretching Cylinder with Multiple Slip Effects
Manoj Kumar Narayanaswamy, Rushi Kumar BangaloreThis study investigates the flow and heat transfer characteristics of Ellis fluid model hybrid nanofluid and ternary hybrid nanofluid past a porous stretchable cylinder in the presence of velocity and thermal slip boundary conditions. Water is considered as the base fluid, while different nanoparticle combinations are used to formulate hybrid and ternary hybrid nanofluids in order to enhance thermal transport performance. The governing equations representing the conservation of mass, momentum, energy, and species concentration are formulated as a coupled system of nonlinear partial differential equations. By applying suitable similarity transformations, the equations are reduced to a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The resulting boundary value problem is solved numerically using the bvp4c routine in MATLAB. The influence of several physical parameters, including porosity, magnetic field, thermal radiation, Peclet number, and Eckert number, on velocity, temperature, and concentration distributions is examined. The results reveal that increasing the Peclet number enhances the concentration profile, while the Eckert number significantly affects the thermal field due to viscous dissipation. Comparative analysis indicates that ternary hybrid nanofluid demonstrates superior thermal and transport performance compared with hybrid nanofluid, suggesting its promising potential for advanced heat transfer and thermal management applications.
