Combined Reconstruction of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament, Anterior Oblique Ligament, and Medial Collateral Ligament of the Knee: Surgical Technique Description
V.B. Melo, S.S. Blunck, S.M.D.G. Canuto, G.D.S. Caldeira, P.B. Jorge, C.P. HelitoFailures in ACL reconstruction have prompted adjunct techniques addressing rotational instabilities. This article describes a combined reconstruction of the ACL, anterior oblique ligament (AOL), and medial collateral ligament (MCL) using autografts (rectus femoris and semitendinosus tendons). The technique’s main feature is the shared femoral tunnel for the AOL and MCL, enabling a reproducible procedure without special implants. This approach aims to restore anteromedial rotatory instability (AMRI) control and reduce ACL graft failure rates.
