Abstract

Combined anterior cruciate ligament and anterolateral ligament reconstruction is indicated for patients with anterior cruciate ligament rupture and preoperative rotatory instability. In smaller patients, the smaller graft diameter and shorter lengths of the gracilis and semitendinosus graft may not be sufficient for performing a combined procedure using autologous hamstring. Graft augmentation with BioBrace, a reinforced bioinductive scaffold, can overcome this by contributing to increased graft thickness and increased biomechanical strength without additional donor site morbidity. This article describes a combined anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and anterolateral ligament reconstruction procedure with augmentation using BioBrace, a reinforced bioinductive scaffold.
