The carbonylation of unactivated C(sp 3 )H bonds represents an attractive strategy for the synthesis of valuable carbonyl‐containing compounds. Herein, we report a cobalt‐catalyzed 8‐aminoquinoline‐directed carbonylative C(sp 3 )H cyclization of aliphatic amides using Mo(CO) 6 as a practical solid CO surrogate. This atom‐economical protocol provides straightforward access to substituted succinimides in good‐to‐excellent yields, employing low cobalt catalyst loadings (5 mol%). The reaction proceeds under operationally simple conditions and avoids the direct handling of gaseous carbon monoxide. To the best of our knowledge, this study represents the first example of a cobalt‐catalyzed C(sp 3 )H carbonylative transformation using Mo(CO) 6 as the carbon monoxide source.
