Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of moxa-box moxibustion combined with Chinese herbal medicine ironing in patients with cancer-related anorexia and evaluate its effect on improving symptoms and quality of life. Methods: A randomized controlled study was conducted in 60 patients diagnosed with cancer-related anorexia, who were randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group received oral megestrol acetate dispersible tablets, while the experimental group received additional treatment with moxa-box moxibustion and Chinese herbal medicine ironing on the basis of the control group. Therapeutic outcomes were evaluated before and after treatment using Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, the FAACT anorexia scale, anorexia Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) scores, body weight, Quality of Life (QOL) scale, and changes in arm circumference. Results: The experimental group showed significantly greater improvements than the control group in TCM syndrome score reduction, appetite score elevation, and quality of life enhancement (P<0. 05). Conclusion: Moxa-box moxibustion combined with Chinese herbal medicine ironing can effectively improve clinical symptoms and enhance quality of life in patients with cancer-related anorexia. It is a safe and effective TCM external therapy.
