Clinical and functional outcomes of rotator cuff repair with bone marrow stimulation: a single-center retrospective study

Aims: The optimal management of full-thickness rotator cuff tears remains controversial. Bone marrow stimulation techniques such as microfracture have been proposed to enhance tendon-to-bone healing. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes of open rotator cuff repair combined with microfracture and to identify factors influencing postoperative results.Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 314 patients who underwent open rotator cuff repair with microfracture between 2013 and 2019. Minimum follow-up was 6 months. Clinical outcomes were assessed using the modified Constant-Murley Score (mCMS), Visual Analog Scale (VAS), and range of motion (ROM). Radiological evaluation was performed using MRI and plain radiographs. Prognostic factors associated withoutcomes were analyzed.Results: The mean age was 59.2±9.8 years; 35.7% were male and 64.3% were female.
