Citrobacter koseri orbital cellulitis: A brief report of two cases with sinonasal etiologies

Zung Mai, Hannah Gill, Verona Botha

Citrobacter koseri is a facultative anaerobic, Gram-negative bacillus that can cause a wide range of infections, including those involving the urinary tract, respiratory tract, bloodstream, meninges, and skin; however, infections of the orbit or nasal cavity are exceedingly rare. [1,2] To date, only two reports of C. koseri -related orbital cellulitis have been published, highlighting the rarity of this condition. This series reports two distinct presentations of C. koseri -induced orbital cellulitis, their clinical courses, and the management strategies employed.
