Cilia in the Epithelium of the Urinary Bladder During Experimental Carcinogenesis

S. Yaiciner, G. H. Friedell

Summary

Cilia were found in the epithelial tumor cells of the urinary bladder in Fischer rats fed N-[4-(5-nitro-2-furyl)-2-thiazolyl]formamide. Each cilium was associated with 2 centrioles and generally had a 9+0 fiber arrangement. No more than one cilium was seen per cell, and all cells containing cilia were in interphase.
