Centella asiatica Granules Ameliorates Necrosis and Inflammation by Notch1 Signaling in Renal Ischemia-reperfusion Injury

Wei Li, Suo gang Wang

Introduction:

The occurrence and development of renal IRI has always been one of the hot spots in the field of renal transplantation. Although many experts at home and abroad have made considerable progress, how to prevent and treat renal IRI is one of the difficult problems to be solved in the world.

Methods:

The rat renal artery was clamped for 45 minutes, and reperfused for 24 hours to establish the renal ischemia reperfusion model. As-L group、As-L+DAPT Group、DAPT Group, and As-H group: Before modeling, 5g/kg of Centella asiatica Granules solution and 10g/kg of Centella asiatica Granules solution were given for 28 days, once a day, respectively. Serum levels of renal injury markers、inflammatory factors, and the expression of Notch signaling proteins were determined.

Results:

Centella asiatica granules significantly reduced the expression of renal injury markers in the ischemia-reperfusion injury model. And it is closely related to inflammatory factors and Notch signaling proteins.

Conclusions:

Centella asiatica Granules pretreatment can alleviate acute renal injury in-duced by renal ischemia-reperfusion, and its mechanism may be related to inhibiting the inflammatory response by Notch1 signaling.
