CAUSES OF TRAIN BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURES OF MOSCOW METRO

Mikhail Kulikov, Nikolay Voronin, Dmitry Gushchin

Abstract The statistics and structure of failures of trains and braking systems of Moscow Metro are presented. The reasons for finding ways and means to increase the reliability of metro train braking systems are described. The study objective is to increase the durability of metro train braking systems. The task to which the paper is devoted is to find out the weaknesses of metro train braking systems. Research methods: theoretical methods for the study of metro train braking systems, analysis of failure causes, their features, varieties, and analysis of operational principle and design of braking systems. The novelty of the work: finding out the most vulnerable unit of metro train braking systems. Research results: rubber products are the most vulnerable components of braking systems. Conclusions: some work is required to find ways and means to increase their reliability.
