Causality and Transition Models
Daniel P. JohnsonAbstract
We use the concept of causal dynamic systems to define causal transition models and demonstrate how they meet the requirements for a reductive theory of causality. Highlights include a graphical analysis of common causal counterexamples including resolving current cases of isomorphic causal models. We also address their relationship to major schools of causality – Counterfactual Theory, Manipulationist/Interventionist Theory, and Mechanism accounts of causality.
