Catalyst-Free Hydrolytic Polycondensation of Phenyltrimethoxysilane Under Ultrasonic Irradiation
Nikita Yakhontov, Olga Gorbatsevich, Nina Demchenko, Georgy Cherkaev, Alina Khmelnitskaia, Aleksandra Kalinina, Aziz MuzafarovCatalyst-free, solvent-free hydrolytic polycondensation of phenyltrimethoxysilane under ultrasonic irradiation was investigated at different reagent molar ratios. The effects of ultrasonic power, temperature, and irradiation time on monomer conversion, functional-group conversion, and product composition were evaluated. The optimal conditions for ultrasound-assisted, catalyst-free hydrolytic polycondensation of phenyltrimethoxysilane were determined. The products were characterized using a combination of physicochemical methods, including 1H and 29Si NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, GPC, GC–MS, and TGA.
