BTFB Participates in Photocatalytic Cascade Cyclization to Construct Polyfluoroalkyl-Substituted Nitrogen-Containing Heterocyclic Compounds
Hao Zheng, Jia-Mei Ni, Chu-Chu Xie, Zhi-Wei ChenAbstract
A photoredox strategy for synthesizing diverse polyfluoroalkyl-substituted N-heterocycles has been reported. Through in situ halogen exchange for activation of polyfluoroalkyl bromides, a photocatalytic cascade cyclization using 4-bromo-3,3,4,4-tetrafluorobutene-1 (BTFB) as the polyfluoroalkyl radical source is described for the first time. It introduces polyfluoroalkyl and terminal alkenes into N-heterocycles in a single operation without metal catalysts or redox reagents, featuring broad substrate scope and late-stage functionalization applicability.
