Abstract

Brinzolamide-induced periocular contact dermatitis is a rare but often misdiagnosed and underrecognized adverse effect in glaucoma treatment. This case series reports three patients from a tertiary eye hospital in India who developed contact dermatitis associated with topical brinzolamide use. All patients were on multiple antiglaucoma medications. Their symptoms resolved after the discontinuation of brinzolamide. A literature review revealed limited documentation of this condition, with only one prior case report. Given the increasing use of brinzolamide, awareness of its potential dermatological side effects is essential. Early identification and drug discontinuation can prevent patient discomfort and complications, ensuring better management of glaucoma therapy.
