Bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (TFSI)‐Catalyzed Regioselective N 1 ‐Alkylation of Benzotriazoles
Hua Mei, Xiaoqiong Fu, Huaiyu Huang, Haifeng Wang, Shuangxi GuA metal‐free, bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (TFSI)‐catalyzed protocol has been developed for the good regioselective N 1 ‐alkylation of benzotriazoles with diazo compounds. Employing only 20 mol% TFSI as the catalyst, this method delivers N 1 ‐alkylated products ( N 1 : N 2 up to 90:10) with a broad scope of substrates under mild conditions. The reaction is readily scalable to the gram scale without compromising yield or selectivity.
