Beneath the peg-shaped lateral: a dilated odontoma and impacted maxillary canine

Dilated odontomas and impacted maxillary canines can, as separate entities, prove challenging to manage from aesthetic and functional perspectives; treatment difficulties can be compounded when these teeth lie adjacent to one another. This case discusses a paediatric patient who presented with both abnormalities, requiring careful consideration of the interim treatment options to gain the best long-term oral health outcome
