Base‐Promoted Synthesis of Functionalized Seven‐Membered Rings From Propargyl Alcohols and β ‐Carbonyl Esters

An efficient process has been developed for the synthesis of multifunctionalized seven‐membered ring compounds from the ring‐expansion reaction of β ‐carbonyl esters with propargyl alcohols bearing cyclic amide functional groups. Notably, this reaction features a metal‐free system, mild reaction conditions, and easy operation. A total of 19 examples were disclosed with up to 87% yield.
