“Bah Talk”: A Bus Tour of Eugene O’Neill’s Boston (and Cambridge) with Cask and Flask, the Tap It Brothers, Gene and Jamie O’Neill

Boston and Cambridge hold meaningful places in the life and career of Eugene O’Neill. On July 8, 2022, about seventy-five attendees of the 11th International Eugene O’Neill Conference in Boston toured O’Neill’s Boston and Cambridge in two buses. The following is the text of that bus tour. On Bus #1, the part of Gene was read by Steve Bloom and the part of Jamie by Alex Pettit; on Bus #2, the part of Gene was read by Zander Brietzke and the part of Jamie by Beth Wynstra. If you were on the tour, then you may enjoy reminiscing about that day as you read the script; if you missed the tour, now you can enjoy it vicariously. If you are ever in the Boston area in the future, you can use it as a self-guided tour of the landmarks that recall O’Neill’s time in Boston and Cambridge.
