Rigin Sebastian, Noufal Naheem Kottekkadan, Toney K Thomas, Paolo Mura

ABSTRACT

By focusing on the social reality of neurodiversity, an alternative expression of the human condition to sensory perception and social engagement, this research note advocates a collective responsibility for neurodiversity inclusion in the tourism workforce. Specifically, this work introduces and critically discusses a ‘critical neurodiversity paradigm’ to scrutinise the pathologisation of diversely abled individuals working in the tourism industry. As such, this study contributes a neuro‐inclusive framework for future research based on macro, meso and micro approaches alongside propositions for workforce equity initiatives.
