Atomic-scale mapping of Grotthuss proton hopping in a single-crystal 3D COF via hydrogen-bond networks

This study maps proton transport paths in single-crystal 3D COF-300-H 2 O at atomic scale. Its continuous hydrogen-bond network gives superprotonic conductivity (0.37 S cm −1 , 85 °C, 98% RH). Crystallography and DFT reveal the Grotthuss hopping mechanism.
