The increasing integration of digital technologies in the construction sector has significantly influenced project management and operational efficiencies. However, the extent to which contractor awareness contributes to digital adoption and construction site management outcomes remains underexplored, particularly in developing economies such as Ghana. This study uses partial least squares structural equation modelling to investigate the associations between contractor awareness, digitalisation, and construction site management outcomes. The results indicate that while awareness of digitalisation is crucial, its direct impact on construction management outcomes is weak. Instead, implementing digital tools such as building information modelling, drones, and digital project management systems improves site coordination, cost efficiency, and time management. The findings further reveal that the extent of digital technology implementation mediates the relationship between digital awareness and site management outcomes. Barriers to adoption, including high initial costs, lack of technical expertise, and resistance to change, hinder full-scale digital transformation. It contributes to understanding the relationship between contractor awareness of digitalisation and construction site management outcomes. This study provides actionable insights for policymakers, industry leaders, and practitioners to enhance digital literacy, develop supportive policies, and foster an environment conducive to digital adoption in the construction sector.
