Single nucleotide variants (SNVs) of the ADIPOQ gene have been linked to cardiometabolic traits, although findings vary across populations. We evaluated four SNVs (rs266729, rs6810075, rs10937273, rs3774261) in relation to selected cardiometabolic parameters and excess body weight in Polish adults. Participants were divided according to body mass index (BMI) into a control group (n = 340, BMI 18.5–24.9 kg/m2) and study group (n = 600, BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2). Anthropometric and cardiovascular measurements, biochemical assessments, and TaqMan genotyping were performed. No significant genotype-dependent differences were observed in blood pressure, heart rate, lipid profile, serum creatinine, or estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). The G allele and GG genotype were more frequent in the study group for rs10937273 (OR = 1.39, 95%CI: 1.12–1.74; p = 0.0040 and OR = 1.54, 95%CI: 1.10–2.16; p = 0.0140, respectively) and rs3774261 (OR = 1.27, 95%CI: 1.01–1.58; p = 0.0430 and OR = 1.39, 95%CI: 1.00–1.94; p = 0.0492, respectively). In crude logistic regression, the rs10937273 GG genotype was associated with excess body weight (OR = 1.43, 95%CI: 1.01–2.01; p = 0.0430), but not after adjustment for age and sex. Overall, no robust independent associations were identified between the investigated ADIPOQ variants and the evaluated phenotypes.
