Assessment of the legal literacy of students of the faculty of dentistry as an integral element of the quality of medical care

Ann important parameter in the formation of a dentist is his legal upbringing. The qualification of a doctor implies that he has knowledge of relevant regulatory documents, his rights and obligations, as well as the rights of patients, since this is an indispensable condition for high-quality dental care, prevention of conflict situations and professional burnout of specialists. Objective. The study of the level of legal literacy of students of the Faculty of Dentistry to determine the strategy of the process of training specialists in the field of dentistry. Material and methods. A survey of 270 students of the Faculty of Dentistry of the 2nd year and 270 students of the 5th year was conducted using the questionnaire method on the Google Forms platform on the Internet. Results. Research has confirmed the best command of the material by 5th year students, while a good knowledge of the legislative framework was not always supported by the ability to apply this knowledge in practice when solving clinical problems. 62% of 2nd-year students and 64% of 5th-year students know the educational requirements; 24% of group 1 respondents and 45% of group 2 respondents know the documents on the rights and duties of doctors; 33% and 28% of respondents know the documents on qualification requirements, respectively; 37% of 2nd-year students and 43% of 5th-year students are familiar 51% and 57%, respectively, were able to choose the right legal disciplinary measures; 10% of group 1 and 9% of group 2 respondents know how to terminate a contract for the provision of paid dental services; 13% and 16%, respectively, know how to manage a patient who refused sign an informed voluntary consent. Conclusion. Thus, in order to improve the quality of dental care provided, it is important to increase the emphasis on the education of legal literacy of future dentists.
