Assessment of quality of life as a criterion for the effectiveness of treatment of patients with rosacea (according to two clinical cases)

O.I. Letyaeva, A.N. Shafigullina

Resume Objective — to analyze the dynamics of the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI), the Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), and the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) in two female patients with resistant forms of papulopustular rosacea during a 3-month therapy course. Materials and Methods. Two clinical cases were analyzed. DLQI, SDS and SAS assessments were performed at baseline and after 3 months. Results. In both cases, clinical improvement was achieved, manifested by a reduction in papulopustular elements, erythema, and telangiectasias. DLQI scores decreased from 12 to 8 points (first case) and from 14 to 7 points (second case), indicating a transition from a severe to a moderate impact on quality of life. Depression and anxiety levels decreased from moderate to mild severity on both scales. Conclusion. Assessment of quality of life and psychoemotional status using validated questionnaires is an important criterion for the effectiveness of rosacea therapy and should be integrated into clinical practice to optimize patient management and enhance their socio-psychological adaptation.
