Assessing the effectiveness of Kreosotum 30C in bacterial vaginosis using evaluation of pre- and post-vaginal smear examination and the vulvovaginal symptom questionnaire

To evaluate the clinical outcomes associated with Kreosotum 30C in patients with bacterial vaginosis.
Material and Methods:
Thirty patients with bacterial vaginosis diagnosed by vaginal smear microscopy were included in this study. Clinical symptoms were assessed using the vulvovaginal symptom questionnaire (VSQ). Treatment outcomes were evaluated by comparing pre- and post-treatment VSQ scores and Nugent scores obtained from vaginal smear microscopic examination. Quantitative data were analysed using a paired t-test.
Results:
A statistically significant reduction in disease severity was observed following treatment, as reflected by improvements in VSQ scores. Vaginal smear microscopy also demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in Nugent scores, indicating an improvement in the vaginal bacterial flora.
Conclusion:
Treatment with Kreosotum 30C was associated with significant improvements in both clinical symptoms and microbiological findings among patients with bacterial vaginosis. These findings suggest a potential therapeutic role for Kreosotum 30C in the management of bacterial vaginosis. Further controlled studies with larger sample sizes are warranted to confirm these observations.
